Black-throated Green Warbler

The overall goal of the Forest Bird Study Group (FBSG) is to facilitate research and monitoring activities and foster collaboration among governmental agencies, NGO’s, and citizen scientists interested in forest birds of the gulf coast. The primary charge of the FBSG is to identify research information needs of forest birds and habitats; set the scientific direction of integrated teams to meet those needs; develop study plans and their protocols to assure success; assemble and coordinate the proper staff to meet those needs; and when additional resources are needed, endeavor to identify sources of money to fund those research priorities.

Regular participants in the Big Pond study include: Charles Brower, Olivia Brower, Gardner Campbell, Julia Garrett, Aaron Given, Jerry Gips, Kay Hale, Flo Hannah, Phil Huxford, Kay Lookingbill, Robert Lookingbill, Warren Pruess, Jim Renfro, Dianne Richmond, John Thayer and Jennifer Wilson.  This group has amassed more than 1,000 field hours on the project.
