Tad reports 15,566 migrating raptors today. WOW!!! I told you they would come when the rain stopped!

Broad-winged Hawk 14,250
Swainson’s Hawk 33
Red-shouldered Hawk 4
Sharp-shinned Hawk 2
Cooper’s Hawk 33
Mississippi Kite 1232
Swallow-tailed Kite 1
Peregrine Falcon 5
Merlin 1
Osprey 2
Northern Harrier 2
Bald Eagle 1 (youngster)

Cessation of rains and north winds finally brought the birds to us. It was too busy to note much avian activity but early in the morning a 6-8 foot alligator exited the bay and waddled across the grass on the east side of the tower headed for the pond on the north side of the tower. Lots of visitor’s today who got to enjoy the huge number of birds flying. Bob and Joe helped out a bit today – thanks guys!
