Tad reports 7 migrating raptors today.

Sharp-shinned Hawk 1
Peregrine Falcon 1
Northern Harrier 5

Overcast skies and southerly winds may have kept the hawks from showing up, but it certainly had no effect on swallows. Thousands flew by, many swirling over the fields in groups of hundreds. Also well represented as flyovers were geese and ducks. Seven hummingbirds competed viciously all day over the two feeders. Rain ended the watch around lunchtime.

The Smith Point Hawk Watch is funded entirely through donations and grants. We have received a number of donations! Thank you! We still need additional funding however. If you would like to make a contribution, you can do so on our website. We appreciate the support very much!
