Bob reports 271 migrating raptors today. Turkey Vulture 253 White-tailed Kite 1 Northern Harrier 9 Sharp-shinned Hawk 3 Cooper’s Hawk 5 Red-tailed Hawk 1 The wind was out of the E but switched to the SE in the afternoon. Other birds of note were Chipping and Vesper Sparrows. Joe Kennedy helped out today.

Turkey Vulture 52 Northern Harrier 7 Sharp-shinned Hawk 17 Cooper’s Hawk 11 Unidentified accipiter 1 Broad-winged Hawk 4 Red-tailed Hawk 18 The wind was strong out of the north and brought those Red-tails! Lost an hour to rain in the morning but it brightened up again around 10:00.

Tad reports 20 migrating raptors today. Turkey Vulture 11 Northern Harrier 4 White-tailed Kite 1 Sharp-shinned Hawk 1 American Kestrel 3 Strong south winds shut down the hawk migration. The two Western Kingbirds continue! Sixteen Snow Geese flew low over the tower in the morning.

Black Vulture 11 Turkey Vulture 394 Northern Harrier 13 Sharp-shinned Hawk 14 Cooper’s Hawk 8 Bald Eagle 10 Broad-winged Hawk 35 Swainson’s Hawk 4 Red-tailed Hawk 6 North wind all day! About 500 Sandhill Cranes, lots of Snow Geese and Greater White-fronted Geese. Marvin Masters, Joe Kennedy and Veda Hackell helped out today.

Others birds of note included one Sandhill Crane, one spoonbill, four crow species, and four Scissor-tailed Flycatchers still hanging in there.

Bob reports two migrating raptors today. Northern Harrier 1 Sharp-shinned Hawk 1 Strong south winds cut down the flight today. Other birds of note were two Common Loons out in the bay, 16 White-faced Ibis and four Scissor-tailed Flycatchers still hanging around.

Joe reports 118 migrating raptors today. Turkey Vulture 94 Black Vulture 20 Northern Harrier 3 Sharp-shinned Hawk 3 Cooper’s Hawk 15 Broad-winged Hawk 3 There were almost no other migrants except for six white pelicans and two hummingbirds. The Song Sparrows are back on territory at the point.
