During the day in the field you and up to three additional guests will spend the day with the Lookingbills as part of a winter project to study raptors. You will participate in catching and banding raptors on a date to be arranged with successful bidder.
Species expected include Red-tailed Hawk, Red-shouldered Hawk, American Kestrel, and White-tailed Hawk, and others are possible. This is a great opportunity for up close viewing and photography of hawks in the hand.
This excursion will take place during the time migratory raptors are here for the winter months. As with all nature adventures, there are no guarantees that a raptor will be caught for banding. However, this team has many years of experience and will give it their most determined effort. Winter Raptor Banding is essentially over at the end of February so this outing will occur prior to March 1, 2022. Coordinating the available times of the high bidder and the Lookingbills will take place once the auction closes. A picnic lunch will be provided. There will be a support vehicle to facilitate an enjoyable day for the high bidder and up to three additional people.
